Peaches 7 Terrifics 3 In this game, Rube Waddell set a new mark for strikeouts in a nine inning game with sixteen. That broke the old record of 15, set by Nolan Ryan. Ty Cobb paced the offense with three hits and Sherry Magee had a homerun. Waddell limited the Terrifics to just five hits, one of those was a homerun by Mike Schmidt. WP-Rube Waddell(2-6). Terrifics 3 Peaches 2 In the B Squad game, the contest was knotted at two, heading into the tenth inning. The Terrifics would pull it out, when George Foster hit a pinch hit, walkoff homerun in the bottom of the tenth. Reggie Jackson and Rennie Stennett each tripled for the Terrifics. Stuffy McGinnis and Nap Lajoie both had two hits apiece for the Peaches. The win ended a three game win streak for the Peaches and also stopped a three game losing streak for the Terrifics.
