In the first contest, Ted Williams homered in the top of the eleventh inning, his second of the game, against Mark Melancon, who lost for the first time this year. WP-Red Ruffing(5-3). Stan Musial played in the B squad game and had a homer and a single. Dom DiMaggio belted his first for the Clippers.
