Terrifics 3 Hammers 1 Reggie Jackson clubbed a two run, walkoff homer, in the bottom of the 13th inning, for a 2-1 Terrifics victory over the Hammers. Johnny Bench also went deep. Frank Robinson returned to action for the Hammers, having been out of the lineup since May 29. He found it tough sledding his first game back, going 0-6. WP-Fergie Jenkins(2-3). LP-Larry Jackson(3-4). HR-Reggie Jackson(11), Johnny Bench(10).
Peaches 5 Sultans 3 The Peaches beat the Sultans 5-3 and three Sultan errors certainly didn’t help their cause. Hard luck loser, Dazzy Vance allowed five runs(four unearned) in the loss. Vance tied the record for consecutive strikeouts with six straight whiffs. He punched out an amazing 12 in just 5.2 innings, but lost due to the errors and no run support. WP-Walter Johnson(6-4).
