Peaches 4 Naturals 2. The Peaches took two from the Naturals, beginning with a 4-2 win in the opener, behind Rube Waddell, who earned his first complete game win. Rube allowed a two run single to Troy Tulowitski, in the top of the second, but otherwise, allowed only three other hits, while striking out a dozen along the way. Wildfire Schulte homered for the Peaches. WP-Rube Waddell(3-6). LP-Clayton Kershaw(6-5). HR-Wildfire Schulte(11).

Peaches 3 Naturals 2. Errors were the story in this game. The Peaches’ Stuffy McInnis kicked two balls at first base, which led to both Natural runs, but even more damaging, was Matt Carpenter’s throwing error on Heinie Zimmerman’s single in the bottom of the ninth, which allowed Nap Lajoie, who had doubled, to cross the plate with the game winning run. That gave the Peaches the 3-2 victory and the sweep. Adam Wainwright grinded out a full eight innings for the Nats, but closer, Koji Uehara, couldn’t get the job done in relief. WP-Chief Bender(4-3). Today’s next and final doubleheader will be the Mad Dogs vs. the Hammers. (Maddux 6-5) against (Koufax 3-7), while (P. Martinez 4-2) duels (Maloney 6-2), in the B game.
