Clippers 10 Naturals 9 10 innings Joe DiMaggio was the hero here, belting a pair of homers, the second one a walkoff winner in the bottom of the tenth, as the Clippers beat the Naturals, 10-9. Mad Dogs 4 Comets 2 Whitey Ford was cruising, with a 2-0 lead, but the Comets committed two errors in the top of the seventh. That, along with an Alex Rodriguez single, loaded the bases. Ken Griffey, Jr. made Ford pay, with a grand slam homerun. Comet’s first sacker, Gil Hodges was hurt in this game and will be out until June 28th. Ted Kluszewski takes over first base duties. Peaches 9 Sultans 7 Yet another game with a walkoff homerun, here, it was Hal Chase of the Sultans’, doing the honors, with a two run game winning blast. The Peaches had a 7-0 lead after just three innings, but the Sultans battled, scoring three runs in the fourth, another in the seventh and three more in the eighth. WP-Walter Johnson(8-5).
