With both pitching staffs stretched as thin as possible, the Clippers had no choice but to allow a fatigued, Lefty Gomez to go out for the top of the eleventh inning, in a 7-7 tie game. Gomez gave up a one out single, allowed three straight walks, then gave up a second single, before getting the last two outs. Peaches 5 Sultans 3. MAGEE IS THIRD MAN TO HOMER TWICE TODAY. Sherry Magee made it a trifecta of men with two homeruns in a game today, as he smacked a pair against the Sultans. It’s the fourth win in a row for the Peaches. Babe Ruth belted his 26th, tying him for the league lead with Mark McGwire of the Mad Dogs. Lefty Williams’ losing streak as a starter goes on.
