Hammers 5 Naturals 4. CLEMENTE HITS PH, 2 RUN WALKOFF HR Roberto Clemente gave the Hammers a thrilling, come from behind win, by blasting a two run, pinch hit homerun off Mark Melancon, in the bottom of the ninth. Once again, a starter, in this case, the Naturals’ Clayton Kershaw, stumbled in the ninth, allowing a triple to Bill Mazeroski. He was singled in by Brooks Robinson. Comets 4 Terrifics 3. CAMPY BELTS 2 HOMERS TO LEAD COMETS BY TERRIFICS Roy Campanella’s two homeruns paced the offense, as the Comets got by the Terrifics, 4-3. Peaches 3 Mad Dogs 2. PEACHES WIN 5TH STRAIGHT, BUT LOSE BAKER The Peaches continue to climb up the standings, winning their fifth in a row, however they have lost Frank Baker, who was hit by a Greg Maddux pitch in his second at bat. Baker will be out until June 30th and will be replaced at third base by Heinie Zimmerman. Sherry Magee went 3-4, to lead the Peaches offense. WP-Ed Walsh(3-6). LP-Greg Maddux(6-6). HR-Sammy Sosa(15).
