CLIPPERS BEAT MAD DOGS TWICE TO PUSH LEAD BACK TO 6 GAMES

In the A game, the Mad Dogs bullpen collapsed in the top of the ninth as Billy Wagner and Al Leiter gave up three runs. Clippers starter, Carl Hubbell went a full eight innings, then Howie Pollett held on for the save in a 5-4 comeback win.
Pollett was fortunate to have a two run cushion, for Ken Griffey, Jr. smashed a solo homer in the ninth, but the Mad Dogs would fall a run short. WP-Carl Hubbell(11-2). LP-Billy Wagner(5-3). HR-Ken Griffey, Jr.(26), Ivan Rodriguez(6).

The B game saw Bob Feller toss his second complete game of the season, as the Clippers pulled off the sweep, with a 4-1 win. The victory stretches their lead back to six games. Homeruns by Kiner and Ott, both in the fifth inning, were instrumental in the win. WP-Bob Feller(6-1). LP-Kevin Brown(6-3).
