The Comets made three errors, the Terrifics two; in a sloppy game defensively. In the end, the Terrifics edged the Comets, 4-2, behind Tom Seaver, who went 7.1 innings. Rod Carew led the Terrifics offense, with a triple and two singles, scoring once and knocking in a pair of runs. Ernie Banks had two hits, including a homerun for the Comets. WP-Tom Seaver(9-10). Sultans 3 Clippers 2

The Sultans, winners of four in a row, took a 3-0 lead in to the ninth, with Carl Mays on the bump. Mays faltered in the ninth, blowing the shutout chance by allowing two Clipper runs, but reliever, Burleigh Grimes held on for the save. WP-Carl Mays(7-7). LP-Schoolboy Rowe(10-5).

Mad Dogs 14 Peaches 1

Ivan Rodriguez becomes the fourth Legends League player to hit three homeruns in one game, as he led the way in a 14-1, Mad Dogs drubbing over the Peaches. Pudge incredibly hit two in one inning, when the Dogs exploded for eleven tallies in that inning. Also going deep in the second inning were, Miguel Cabrera and Chipper Jones. The game set a new league mark for runs in an inning(11) and total runs(14). The Mad Dogs sent 14 men to the plate in the second inning, capped off by a Mark McGwire grand slam. Rodriguez hit his third homer of the game off Walter Johnson in the sixth inning. The Mad Dogs have won three straight games, while the fading Peaches have lost four in a row. WP-David Wells(10-5). Max Scherzer tossed his fifth complete game, defeating the Hammers, 6-1. Scherzer was at the top of his game, giving up just one run on four hits. He had 13 punch outs and walked only one batter.
