GAME RECAPS:
Clippers 10 Terrifics 8
The Clippers belted three homeruns in a 10-8 slugfest with the Terrifics, none bigger than Lou Gehrig’s, three run clout in the bottom of the eighth inning, off Steve Blass. The Clippers were trailing, 8-7, heading into that inning. Jimmie Foxx hit a solo shot in the fifth, temporarily giving him the league lead, in what has been a great battle among the league’s sluggers. WP-Red Ruffing(10-4). LP-Steve Blass(5-6). HR-Mike Schmidt(26); Jimmie Foxx(35), Ted Williams(30), Lou Gehrig(25).
Mad Dogs 6 Hammers 5

Sultans 7 Comets 4
Babe Ruth had an incredible day, going a perfect 5-5, with five runs batted in, as the Sultans beat the Comets, 7-4. Ruth belted a pair homers, plus a double, and is now tied with Jimmie Foxx of the Clippers for the league lead. Dazzy Vance, making a strong case for Pitcher of the Year, won his fifth straight decision, improving to 14-4. WP-Dazzy Vance(14-4). LP-Robin Roberts(10-11). HR-Babe Ruth 2(35), George Sisler(5); Roy Campanella(11).
Peaches 7 Naturals 2

The 7-2 win ends a six game losing skid, as the team battles to stay in the first division. WP-Christy Mathewson(9-4). LP-Clayton Kershaw(10-7).
