Terrifics 10 Mad Dogs 6 The Terrifics took it to the Mad Dogs, in a 10-6 drubbing. The Dogs scored five runs over the last three inning and still fell four runs short. For the Terrifics; Rod Carew(6), Mike Schmidt(29) and George Foster(31) all hit balls out of the park. Mark McGwire 2(37) hit a pair in a losing effort. WP-Carlton(10-8). LP-Clemens(11-4).
Peaches 5 Clippers 1 Christy Mathewson bested Dizzy Dean, as the Peaches beat the Clippers, 5-1. There were no homeruns hit in this game. WP-Mathewson(10-5). LP-Dean(11-8).
Naturals 2 Sultans 1; Naturals 8 Sultans 6 The Naturals got a twinbill sweep, as they beat the Sultans twice, 2-1 in the A game and 8-6 in the B game. Mike Trout’s(16) eight inning homerun was the difference in the first game. WP-Jon Lester(7-11). LP-Dazzy Vance(16-5). The Sultans put up a nice battle in the second game, getting a pair of homers from George Kelly(7), who now leads all B squads. Even light hitting, Joe Sewell(2) ran into one, but the Sultans would fall short by two runs. Robinson Cano(15) helped his B teammates, with a three run blast, as part of a four run, seventh inning.
