Mad Dogs 1 Naturals 0
The Mad Dogs’ and Naturals double header were the only games on the slate. The Mad Dogs won the A game, 1-0, thanks to a solo home run by Mark McGwire(42). Winning pitcher, Tom Glavine(14-6) got credit for his third shutout of the season, despite being largely outpitched by the Nats’ Clayton Kershaw(11-10). Glavine allowed eight hits and five walks, though he did fan ten batters. Kershaw gave up five hits, struck out 8and walked just one. He did hit a batter, however.
Naturals 6 Mad Dogs 4
The B game saw the Naturals get to reliever, Mariano Rivera(5-4), for three runs in the top of the ninth inning, as the Naturals posted a 6-4 comeback win. Miguel Cabrera(38) played third base for the B squad and went 3-4 with a homerun. Sammy Sosa(28) patrolled center field and also went deep for the Dogs. Albert Belle(7) had a solo homer. WP-Adrolis Chapman(5-3).
