TOP OF BRAVES ORDER SHINES IN 6-2 WIN OVER PIRATES
Leadoff hitter, Sonny Jackson doubled and scored two runs; Ralph Garr went 3-4 with a double and Henry Aaron tripled and homered, driving in four runs, as the Braves beat the Pirates, 6-2, in their season series opener.
Neither starter went very deep into the game. Winning Pitcher, Pat Jarvis only went five innings, while loser, Bob Moose(0-1) bowed out after just four and a third innings.
Mike Lum added a pinch hit home run for Atlanta in the bottom of the seventh. Bob Robertson(1) had a solo blast for Pittsburgh in the top of that inning.
Steve Blass squares off against Phil Niekro in the second game of the series.
