BUCS OPEN SECOND PHILLIES SERIES WITH 4-2 WIN

Willie Stargell hit his third homerun and drove in three runs and Bob Robertson also belted his third homer, as the Pirates defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-2. Bob Johnson started and worked six innings, but left trailing, 2-1. Robertson’s solo shot tied the game in the top of the seventh, then Stargell’s two run clout put Pittsburgh ahead to stay, in the top of the eighth. Bob Veale(1-0) earned the win in relief; Rick Wise took the loss. Jim Nelson got a save.
