BUCCOS WIN 6-5 IN THIRTEEN INNINGS OVER METS
The Pittsburgh Pirates have defeated the New York Mets, for the second straight day, both games went extra innings.
This time around, the Buccos pulled out a 6-5 win over the Mets, when Willie Stargell doubled off Charlie Williams, in the top of the 13th inning, then was singled in by Jackie Hernandez. Dave Guisti set the Mets down in order in the bottom of the thirteenth.
Manny Sanguillen belted two home runs and now has three on the year. Nelson Briles(1-0) collected his first win in relief and Guisti earned save #4.
There’s no rest for the weary as these two teams have a double header today. Both team’s best relievers, Dave Guisti and Tug McGraw, will be unavailable for the twinbill.
