ASTROS BULLPEN BUCKLES AS BUCS PULL OUT 3-1 WIN
Bob Moose went up against Jack Billingham of the Astros and held his own for 7.1 innings. He left the game trailing 1-0. Bob Miller took over and got Bob Watson to hit into a double play in the top of the eighth, making him the pitcher of record.
Denny LeMaster relieved Billingham and started off the Pirates eighth by walking Dave Cash. He then allowed back to back singles to Gene Clines and Vic Davalillo, before Fred Gladding took over the pitching duties. The Pirates scored twice on Davalillo’s hit, taking a 3-1 lead, which is how the game finished. WP-Bob Miller4-0). LP-Denny LeMaster. SV-Grant(2).
