BILLY WILLIAMS’ THREE RUN HR PUSHES CUBS PAST PIRATES
Sweet swinging, Billy Williams, belted a three run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning, breaking a 4 all tie, to lead the Chicago Cubs past Pittsburgh, 7-4.
It was a rough start for Jim Nelson, who allowed four runs on eight hits, in just five innings. Bob Robertson was the only Pirate with two hits, he had a triple and a single. WP-Ken Holtzman. LP-Mudcat Grant(1-3). HR-Billy Williams.
The Bucs will try to salvage the series finale, with Bob Moose going against Ferguson Jenkins.
