BUCCOS ROLL IN ASTRO’S OPENER WITH 9-3 WIN

The Pirates had a relatively easy time in their opening game against the Astros, winning, 9-3, behind Bob Moose, who went six innings and Nelson Briles, who pitched the final three innings.

Though no homeruns were hit by the team, every player in the lineup had at least one hit, including both pitchers. As usual, Willie Stargell led the way, with a double and two singles and three rbi’s. Bob Watson had a solo home run for Houston. WP-Bob Moose(3-5). LP-Jack Billingham HR-Bob Watson.

Game two has Steve Blass going up against Larry Dierker.
