1971 Pittsburgh Pirates Replay

GM# 73 JUNE 26, 1971 AT PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

BUCS EDGE PHILLIES 3-2 ON ROBERTSON’S 2 RUN CLOUT

Chris Short and the Phillies led Dock Ellis and the Pirates, 2-1, when Bob Robertson’s two run homer in the top of the seventh, put Pittsburgh ahead to stay.

Ellis struggled in this one, only going five innings, while allowing two runs on three hits. He struck out four, but also issued four walks. Dock settled for a no decision, with Bob Miller getting the win in relief. It has been quite a season so far for Miller, who has six wins against no defeats, most of those coming in relief. Jose Pagan also had a homerun. WP-Bob Miller(6-0). LP-Chris Short. HR-Bob Robertson(17), Jose Pagan(2).

These two clubs will play a doubleheader next. Bob Johnson will start for Pittsburgh; Woodie Fryman for Philadelphia.
