KISON TOSSES SECOND ONE HIT SHUTOUT THIS SEASON
Pittsburgh’s Bruce Kison pitched his second one hit shutout of the season, in only his fourth major league start, defeating the San Diego Padres, 8-0. Kison allowed a fourth inning single to Don Mason as the only hit he allowed He struck out six but walked three and hit a batter.
Kison had loads of offensive support in this game. Richie Hebner was 4-5, with a home run and a double and four runs batted in. Al Oliver had two doubles and a triple in the win. WP-Bruce Kison(2-1). LP-Clay Kirby. HR-Richie Hebner(7).
