BILL STONEMAN TURNS THE TABLES WITH 3-0 SHUTOUT OF PIRATES

One day after Steve Blass and Dave Giusti combined to blank Montreal, 5-0, Expos hurler, Bill Stoneman got a measure of revenge, by tossing a 4 hit shutout against Pittsburgh.

Montreal got a run in the bottom of the first inning, when Ron Woods tripled and later scored. They never looked back, adding a run in the fifth and eighth. The series wraps up, with Bruce Kison facing John Strohmeyer.

The loss ends a five game win streak for the Pirates. WP-Bill Stoneman. LP-Luke Walker(9-3).
