PHILLIES DEMOLISH PIRATES, 11-1
Philadelphia won game two of the series in a laugher, pounding out 19 hits, to go with eleven runs. Rick Wise retired the first 18 men he faced, eventually finishing with a complete game, four hitter. The Pirates scratched out a run in the bottom of the seventh.
For the Phillies, Don Money was 5-6, with two runs scored and two batted in. Deron Johnson was a triple shy of the cycle, with three runs scored and three RBI. Willie Montanez scored three runs and even Wise himself, got in on the action, going two for four and scoring twice. WP-Rick Wise. LP-Bob Moose(6-8). HR-Deron Johnson.
Pittsburgh will have to win both games of a doubleheader, to manage a series split. Steve Blass faces Woodie Fryman in game one.
