CARDS OVERCOME POOR START FROM CARLTON TO BEAT BUCS, 7-4

It was not the start the Cardinals were looking for from Steve Carlton, who gave up four runs in just three innings, but St. Louis battled back, scoring twice in the fifth and three more times in the sixth, to go on and defeat Pittsburgh, 7-4, in the series opener.
