TONY PEREZ’S 3 RUN HOMER IN 7TH INNING SINKS PIRATES IN 5-2 LOSS
Cincinnati’s Tony Perez smashed a three run home run off Bob Moose, in the bottom of the seventh, breaking a 2-2 tie, and leading the Reds to a 5-2 win over Pittsburgh.
Bruce Kison and Ross Grimsley started, both would finish with no decisions. Jim Merritt collected the win in relief, while Moose was tagged with the loss. The teams go at it again today, with Dock Ellis battling Wayne Simpson on the mound. WP-Jim Merritt. LP-Bob Moose(6-10). HR-Tony Perez.
