Frank Caliguiri pitched seven innings, leaving the game with a 2-1 lead, then turned the ball over to Smokey Joe Williams. The reliever couldn’t get the job done this time out, as he allowed two singles, a walk and a double, leading to two Browns runs in the top of the eighth.
The loss snaps a five game win streak for Philadelphia.
