The Athletics fell to the Cleveland Indians, 4-1, in ten innings, thereby losing the series, two games to one.
It was a low scoring battle between Mel Harder and Bill Foster for much of the game, with each starter allowing just one run over nine innings.
Joe Williams was called upon to keep the score close and again he came up short. Williams was tagged for three runs in the top of the ninth, on three singles and two walks. Hal Trosky hit a sacrifice fly off of Porter Vaughan, but all the runs were charged to Williams, who suffers his second loss.
The game was very sloppy defensively, with Philadelphia committing a season high, four errors.
The homestand continues with the Chicago White Sox coming in to play the Athletics.
