Josh Gibson and Ted Williams both homered in all four games of this series, but in the finale, Philadelphia came away with the 4-1 win. Sam Chapman had a great day filling in for James Bell in center field. He had three hits, including a triple.
Foster went a strong seven innings, allowing one run on six hits, while fanning five. Philadelphia will now have to endure back to back double headers, starting with Washington, then traveliing to St. Louis.
