The Athletics won going away in game one, with a 12 to 2 rout of Washington. Fred Caligiuri stayed unbeaten on the slab, in eight innings of work. Ray Dandridge and Josh Gibson had four hits each, with Gibby driving in four runs.

Though Smokey Joe Williams has struggled lately, out of the bullpen, the Athletics decided to give him a spot start, in game two of a double header. Williams pitched five innings, allowing two runs on three hits. He struck out one, but issued four walks. Lum Harris was tagged with the 6-5 loss, in relief.
Philadelphia has a day off on May 31, then travels to St. Louis to take on the Brown, in yet another twinbill. Standings will be posted after the May 31st games.
