After two straight games were rained out, the Philadelphia Athletics finally were able to take the field. They made the most of it, with a 6-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox. Joe Rogan pitched seven strong innings and Smokey Joe Williams finished the last three. The two Athletics’ hurlers combined to limit Chicago to just three hits.
Josh Gibson belted home run #14. St. Louis was able to get their game in with Washington, winning, 7-4, however, the N.Y. at Detroit game and the Boston at Cleveland contest were both washed out.
