Philadelphia won a wild one against the Cleveland Indians, 11-9. It was a back and forth battle, with plenty of offense. The Athletics led 4 to 1 after three innings, then Cleveland scored four times in the top of the sixth, to take a 5-4 advantage. Philadelphia put up another four spot in the last of the seventh, to go ahead, 8-5. Each team would score three times in the eighth. That gave the home team an eleven to eight lead, then the held on, as Cleveland got one more run in the top of the ninth.

Josh Gibson had two doubles and a single, driving in three runs. Bob Johnson had a three run home run and two singles. Ray Dandridge had a single and double and scored three runs.
