GM# 64 JUNE 26, 1941 VS. DETROIT TIGERS
ATHLETICS BULLPEN FOLDS LIKE A CHEAP SUIT AS TIGERS ROLL, 11-4
DET 11 13 1
PHI 4 6 0
WP-TOMMY BRIDGES LP-JOE WILLIAMS(0-4)
HR-RUDY YORK, PAT MULLIN
Satchel Paige started the game and left after six innings, with a 4-2 lead. Things went quickly south, though, as Smokey Joe Williams came in and allowed four runs in just a third of an inning pitched. Williams has really been the lone disappointment of the new players acquired by Philadelphia. He is now 0-4, all in relief.
The game went from bad to worse, when Lum Harris surrendered six more runs, including a two run blast from Rudy York.
That gives Detroit a two games to three, series win. Now the Yankees come into Shibe, for a two game set.
