TWO HOLIDAY TWINBILLS ARE RAINED OUT, INCLUDING BOST. AT PHILA
Mother Nature said no to any Fourth of July baseball, for eight American League teams. Washed out were double headers between Boston and Philadelphia and Washington and New York.
Cleveland swept the Browns, 9-8 and 3-3; while Chicago spilt with Detroit, winning the first game, 3-2 and dropping the second game, 10-6.
The Athletics’ latest homestand is now concluded and they will travel to New York, to take on the second place Yankees. They’ll play a single game on July 5th, then a double header on July 6th.
