HR-CHARLIE KELLER; BUCK LEONARD(8)

Joe DiMaggio and Charlie Keller combined to drive in all five of New York’s runs. Keller belted a big, two run homer in the bottom of the eighth, which, at the time, gave the Yanks a 4-3 lead. Buck Leonard doubled in pinch hitter, Biz Mackey, in the top of the ninth, tying the game, but Athletics reliever, Porter Vaughan faltered in the bottom of the ninth, allowing a walk and two singles, including Keller’s walkoff winner.
