  Satchel Paige started and went six and a third inniings, staked to a 4-0 lead. However, Cleveland rallied late, scoring four runs over the final three innings. Buck Leonard hit a solo home run in the eighth and Ray Dandridge belted a two run clout in the top of the ninth, pushing Philadelphia past Cleveland, 7-4.
