Satchel Paige left after pitching seven full innings, with the score knotted at 7 all. Josh Gibson belted his 39th circuit clout, in the top of the eighth, giving Paige a chance for the win. Tom Ferrick then came in and pitched two innings of scoreless relief to insure Satchel would get credit for win #20.
Buck Leonard also homered and Benny McCoy had a nice game at the top of the order, going 3-5.
