Fred Caligiuri went the distance for the eighth time this year, leading Philadelphia to a 6-1 win over the Washington Senators. Bob Johnson homered and Josh Gibson and Wally Moses had two hits apiece.

The Athletics scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth, on route to a 6-5, comeback win over the Senators. Biz Mackey’s double was the key hit in the inning. Tom Ferrick set Washington down in order, in the eighth and ninth, to earn the win.
