Satchel Paige has pitched back to back shutouts, as he blanked the St. Louis Browns, 10-0. This comes on the heels of his September 12th whitewash of the Chicago White Sox, on just three days rest. This was the eleventh complete game and ninth shutout for Paige, who at this point, is the best pitcher in the league, bar none.
Offensively, Ray Dandridge and Benny McCoy each had a triple and a double and James Bell went deep for home run #11. Philadelphia leads the series with St. Louis, two games to one, with the final game coming tomorrow.
