ATHLETICS AND YANKS IDLE
The situation remains unchanged between the top two teams in the American League. Philadelphia holds a 3.5 game lead over New York. Because of ties, the two clubs have an unequal number of games left. The Athletics play five more times, twice at New York, then three games at Boston. The Yankees host Philadelphia twice, then play four more games against the Washington Senators, for a total of six in all.
