Scheduled starter, Joe Rogan, was a late scratch and Bill Foster stepped in and pitched brilliantly, tossing a three hit shutout, in a 6-0 whitewash, putting New York’s pennant hopes on life support. Buck Leonard continues to be red hot, belting his 21st home run. That is his third circuit clout in the last four games.
A win over New York tomorrow will clinch the flag for Philadelphia. Fred Caligiuri is scheduled to pitch against Atley Donald.
