James Bell had two hits and scored twice, while Josh Gibson had two hits and drove in a pair of runs as Philadelphia took a 2-0 series lead over Brooklyn, with a 4-1 victory.

Bill Foster went eight innings, allowing one run on six hits. Bell doubled in his first at bat, then was singled in by Ray Dandridge. Gibson made it 3-0, when he smacked a two run double in the bottom of the second.

Brooklyn got on the board in the top of the sixth, when Pete Reiser tripled and scored on a Dolph Camilli groundout. The Athletics added one final run in the bottom of the eighth. Eddie Collins pinch hit for Foster and singled, bringing Alan Brancato around to score.

The series now shifts to Ebbets Field in Brooklyn.
