Phenoms Barnstorming Tour

This is a new project I’m starting. I made a team of 25 rookie players across all eras. There are 10 pitchers and 15 position players, however, I’m only keeping stats on the nine regulars in the lineup. (There will be a designated hitter for each team.) The pitchers on the roster are Pete Alexander (1911), Vean Gregg (1911), Kerry Wood (1998), Hideo Nomo (1995), Mark Fidrych (1976), Jose Fernandez (2013), Joe Page (1949), Bruce Sutter (1977), Shohei Ohtani (2018) and Mark Eichhorn (1986). There will be no pitching rotation, per se, however, every starter needs at least three days between starts. Page, Sutter and Eichhorn will be the main bullpen guys, though Alexander, Gregg and Fidrych, may relieve.

The regulars will be SS-Troy Tulowitzki (2007), RF-Joe Jackson (1911), CF-Willie Mays(1951), LF-Frank Robinson (1956), 1B-Orlando Cepeda (1958), C-Carlton Fisk(1972), DH-Eddie Murray (1977), 3B-Cal Ripken (1982), 2B-Dustin Pedroia (2007).

The bench will be Johnny Bench (1968), Chris Chambliss (1971), Luis Aparicio (1956), Jim Lefebvre (1965), Bob Meusel (1920) and Andre Dawson (1977).

As far as the tour itself, the Phenoms will play 160 games (16 teams over 10 individual years. Those seasons are 1911, 1920, 1924, 1934, 1941, 1949, 1951, 1956, 1958 and 1960. The barnstorming tour will begin in Boston, move to New York City, then travel to Philadelphia, Washington, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Detroit, Cincinnati and finally St. Louis. In Boston, New York, Philadelphia and St. Louis, games will be played against both the National League and American League representatives of those cities.

The Phenoms will always be the visiting team. Things kick off as the team takes on the 1911 Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
