CHIEF MEYERS KNOCKS IN GAME WINNING RUN, AS GIANTS WIN, 2-1

TOUR RECORD 4-4

PHENOMS 1

GIANTS 2

WP-CHRISTY MATHEWSON LP-MARK EICHHORN(1-1)

The Phenoms barnstorming tour record falls to .500, with a 2-1 loss to the 1911 N.Y. Giants.

The club has faced two of the best mounds men baseball has to offer, in back-to-back games. First, Walter Johnson, of the Washington Senators. He shutout the Phenoms, 1–0 and now, Christy Mathewson, who went the distance for New York, in a 2-1 win.

Chief Meyers was the offensive hero, driving in Buck Herzog with the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

Jim Lefebvre spelled slumping Dustin Pedroia at second base. Jim was 1 for 3, with a single.

Despite outhitting the Giants, 8 to 7, an overall lack of offensive production continues to hurt the ballclub.

NEXT GAME: AT 1911 PITTSBURGH PIRATES, FORBES FIELD, PITTSBURGH, PA.
