With the score knotted at two all, Dustin Pedroia reached on a two-out error by Dots Miller, the third miscue of the day for the Pirate second sacker. Joe Jackson then doubled, plating Pedroia and Troy Tulowitzki tripled, bring Jackson in. Tulowitzki would be stranded, but the damage was done, as the Phenoms went on to win, 4-2, in eleven innings. Their tour record improves to 5 and 4.

The top of the order was big in this game, as Jackson went 3-5, with a double, while Tulowitzki went 4-5, with a triple. Pedroia breaks a long slump with his first base hit of the tour, a single in the fourth inning. Vern Gregg started and worked six innings
