The Phenoms leading pitcher, Kerry Wood, improved his unbeaten record to 7 and 0, with a 6 to 1 victory over the 1924 Detroit Tigers. Wood narrowly missed tossing his second shutout of the tour, when the Tigers pushed across a run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Wood pitched eight and one third innings, scattering five hits and fanning seven. He uncharacteristically had some control issues, as he gave up five walks,
Offensively, in addition to the two Phenom home runs, Dustin Pedroia was 3-4, with a double and Willie Mays was 2-5.
