Joe Jackson uncharacteristically made two errors, one in the second and another in the third, but he made up for it by lacing a two run double in the top of the fifth, sending the Phenoms past the 1924 Cincinnati Reds, 3-1.
Vean Gregg pitched a strong eight innings and Bruce Sutter closed it out, with a 1, 2, 3 bottom of the ninth.
