WP- URBAN SHOCKER LP-HIDEO NOMO (4-2)

Despite being outhit, 7-4, the 1924 St. Louis Browns were able to capitalize on their hits and defeat the Phenoms, 2-0, behind Urban Shocker.

This was the first game so far on the tour, in which both starting pitchers; Shocker for St. Louis and Hideo Nomo, for the Phenoms, pitched complete games.

The Phenoms had the bases loaded, with two out in the seventh inning, but could not push a run across.

The Browns’ Jack Tobin tripled off Nomo to start the game. He later scored on a George Sisler sacrifice fly. Tobin was instrumental in the game’s second run, as he singled in Herschel Bennett, who had doubled, in the bottom of the seventh inning.
