Orlando Cepeda hit a seeing eye single in the top of the seventh inning, extending his hitting streak to 16 consecutive games. (I rolled a single 1-4 and a D-20 of 4). Joe Jackson’s nine game hit streak ended, though he reached base twice on walks. Team leader in home runs, Frank Robinson, went deep for the second straight game. Starter, Jose Fernandez improves to 8-1, allowing two runs in six innings. Reliever, Bruce Sutter, who hadn’t pitched in several days, tossed three innings of scoreless ball. The Athletics burned through five pitchers in this game.
