The Phenoms had a pretty easy time of it against the 1934 Washington Senators. In a 7-3 victory, five players had a multiple hit game, including Orlando Cepeda, who extended his hitting streak to 18 games, with room to spare. Cepeda went five for six, with three runs batted in. Frank Robinson was three for four, with three doubles. Dustin Pedroia had three singles and a double and scored twice. Finally, Cal Ripken had a home run, a double and a sacrifice fly.

Hideo Nomo earned the win, going six and a third innings. Even Joe Page was decent in relief. He pitched two and two third scoreless innings.
