The Phenoms exploded for 11 runs, all scored over the first three innings and never looked back, as they destroyed the 1934 Cleveland Indians, 11-2.

Indians’ starter, Mel Harder was sent packing after just one third of an innings, having allowed five runs, though four of those were unearned, thanks to a pair of Cleveland errors. After they scored a five spot in the very first inning, the Phenoms got right back to work, with five more tallies against reliever, Clint Brown. The second salvo of runs was highlighted by Dustin Pedroia’s three run clout.

Cleveland left a bunch of runners stranded, as Wood gave up nine hits and two walks in seven innings. He did strike out seven, however. Kerry stays unbeaten as the Phenoms ace and is the first to crack double digits in wins.

It wasn’t easy, but Orlando Cepeda extended his hitting streak to 20 games, getting a single in his final at bat. In the first inning, he reached on an error and later scored. In the second, he walked and scored his second run. He grounded out to second base in the top of the third inning. He hit into a 1-6-3 twin killing, in the fifth. In the seventh, he hit a deep fly ball, which Joe Vosmik hauled in at the fence. Finally, he hit a sharp single to right field, to keep the streak going, in the top of the ninth.
