After dropping an eleven-inning affair to the Red Sox, the Phenoms once again lost in extra innings, this time, by a score of 2-1, to the 1941 Boston Braves. For the first time on this tour, the Phenoms have lost three games straight.
Paul Waner came off the bench for Boston in the bottom of the fourteenth inning and stroked a game winning single, scoring Bama Rowell, with the winning tally. Braves’ starter, Jim Tobin was one out away from a shutout win, when the Phenoms tied the game at one all, in the top of the ninth. With two out, Tobin plunked Frank Robinson with a pitch for the second time in the game. He then walked Cal Ripken, before giving up a rbi double to Orlando Cepeda.
